Small World play helps explore their thoughts and feelings.

In the early years of child development, small way play is a style of playing where life is recreated in miniature.  A child can imagine stories, or recreate stories based on experience, and then translate those ideas in a play world, using props and miniatures.

As caregivers, we can support small world play by providing the props and play pieces in an open-ended way, enabling them to build their imagined world in child-sized proportions.
